Old World Bathroom Ideas!

After almost 14 years we are finally getting that 'new' master bathroom!  I have looked at 1,000 photos...ok maybe not quite that many - but close...for ideas. I found this copper sinks photo which became my inspiration for the entire bathroom renovation.  I started a 'vision board' on Pinterest to have a place to organize the ideas I found online.  The remodel is taking on an 'old world' feel which I love.

We have a dark corner shower "cave" with a small opening.  I always felt like I was at camp when taking a shower in there. The plan is to open it up with a glass enclosure and a half wall on each side as shown in this inspiration photo below.  I love the idea of wood paneling on the front of the tub with a band of mosaic tile around the tub to balance out the room using these same textures throughout.

Mosaic glass tile adds a beautiful accent to any space so using glass tile is a must. Not only can it be used as a border but it can be used to make a statement inside an arched shelf such as this one.

I'm thinking of using the glass tile that I found (below) around the sink area as a backsplash but still playing with that idea.

The standard look for a backsplash is using a 4" piece of the same material used on the counter.  But I would like a little more of this gorgeous mosaic tile spread throughout the entire bath. i.e. in the shower, around the garden tub and as a backsplash around the sink area.

Selecting granite for the countertop is tough because there are so many choices. But I fell in love with the one below.  It works really well with this mosaic tile and of course the beautiful copper sinks.

I found this copper sink at Lowes.com.  We now have two of these beautiful sinks ready to go.

Thinking about this chandelier over the garden tub.

After much research, many trips to the stores, finding inspiration and ideas online...not to mention hours of sleep loss with ideas floating around my head all night...I have finally made the selections for the entire bath...I think:)  I am still deciding exactly what pattern to use for the tile pieces and where and how much of the mosaic tile to use...but all in good time. So far the reno is coming along nicely.

Stay tuned to follow the entire renovation and see the final results!
