When redesigning a room, one of my pet peeves is visible cables and cords. They are distracting to the eye not to mention unattractive...so I try to hide them as much as possible. I like adding picture lights to highlight artwork as well as add some subtle ambience to a room. Using cordless picture lights help keep cords to a minimum. There is nice selection of them out there and some even come with a remote!
Having the option of a remote makes it easy to use picture lights in high places such as over bookshelves or over large or stacked artwork. This particular remote cordless picture light is from Rite Light and comes in several different finishes.

There are so many creative ways to use cordless picture lights...I would love to hear how you have incorporated them into your home design!

The answer is, load the batteries into a backplate that attaches to the wall! This results in a lamp that seems to be direct wired into the wall.Antique Brass Picture Light
