After several years of living in a space they dubbed "the warehouse", this family decided it was time for their family room to undergo a much-needed redesign. For a busy family who spends a lot of time in this room, having a warm and inviting space was as important as it was overdue.
As with every redesign, we began by clearing the room to get a better feel of the layout and what we had to work with. "Shopping" around the home, lots of fun treasures were found that worked beautifully to bring in color and character. Everything in this redesigned room was found right at home with the exception of the pretty new chair and a few colorful spring pillows from Pier 1 Imports to complete the "new look".

BEFORE REDESIGN |
By adding lots of color and beautiful pieces around the fireplace, your eye no longer goes straight to the TV which, let's be honest, is not the most attractive piece in the room. :)

AFTER FAMILY ROOM REDESIGN |
My client had acquired an old dresser which she very creatively transformed into a beautiful distressed red lacquer painted treasure that fit perfectly in the nook to the left of the fireplace.

COZY READING NOOK |
This distressed cabinet made an interesting side table.
A beautiful red Asian-inspired piece was the perfect addition to compliment the red lacquer dresser across the room.
Now...colorful, cheerful, warm and inviting...
What "treasures" do you have to transform your living space?
